FAQ / Ordering and installation

Designing and building with Pinegard

How does a Pinegard order work, what is included in a quotation, and when do samples and drawings arrive? Follow the process through delivery and installation, including abroad, plus servicing and other garden structures.

01Products and delivery

What structures does Pinegard build?

Terrace roofs, garden rooms, pergolas, carports, garden sheds and other timber structures. We also build garden saunas and training buildings. The scope includes design, component manufacture, delivery and installation, with equipment selected for the building's function.

Do I need my own design to place an order?

No. Pinegard prepares a design based on the site and users' needs. Photographs, approximate dimensions and a description of the intended use are enough to start. An architect's design or a selected portfolio project can also form the basis for development.

What should I send for an initial quotation?

Photographs of the site, approximate dimensions, location and a description of the structure. Roofing, walls, glazing and equipment such as a kitchen or heating have the greatest effect on scope. A portfolio reference helps establish the shape and degree of enclosure.

Can portfolio structures be ordered in different dimensions?

Yes. We adapt the dimensions and equipment of a selected Pinegard project to the new location. Changes to width, roofing or walls may require different support spacing and beam sections, so adaptation also includes structural design.

How does an order progress from design to installation?

We start with site photographs and a conversation about your needs, then prepare proposed solutions and an initial quotation. The next stages are:

  1. agreeing a detailed order and specification;
  2. choosing materials using samples;
  3. approving the working drawing;
  4. delivery, installation, inspection and clearing the work area.

The full process is described in our guide to building a garden room and pergola.

What should the structure's quotation itemise?

The quotation should describe the structure and clearly identify the work included. Check:

  • dimensions, materials and finishes;
  • roof, walls, glazing and equipment;
  • delivery and installation;
  • who provides foundations, paving and utility connections.

02Timber, samples and documentation

What timber does Pinegard use?

We use glued laminated timber in load-bearing terrace roofs, pergolas and sheds. Our timber comes from Scandinavia, and we use OSMO coatings for exterior protection. Facades, structural components and sauna interiors have different functions, so their materials are selected separately.

Are material samples delivered to the customer?

Yes. After the order is placed, we send samples of timber, colours and other project materials by courier. You can compare them with the house in natural daylight. The samples remain with you after the choice is made.

What does the order specification contain?

It describes the dimensions, layout, materials and equipment of the ordered structure. Together with drawings, it explains what Pinegard supplies and which work must be arranged separately, including ground preparation and utility connections.

When does the customer receive the working drawing?

You receive it before installation for approval. It shows precise dimensions, component positions and details. Before approving, compare it with the specification and site conditions, because the structure will be built to this drawing.

Who manages the project at Pinegard?

A dedicated project manager is the customer's main contact. They coordinate decisions, material samples and installation and manage the project through handover. Customers do not need to collect information separately from production, logistics and technical teams.

What determines the project lead time?

Design completion and drawing approval, equipment scope, material availability and readiness of the installation site. Project-specific glazing or equipment can have its own delivery times. The schedule covers the entire order, not only the team's time on the property.

03Foundations, services and installation

Are foundations the same as the terrace surface?

No. Tiles, decking and paving form the walking surface. Foundations transfer structural loads to the ground and may lie beneath the terrace finish.

Their positions, load-bearing capacity and suitability for fixing supports must be checked before installation.

What should be prepared for services before installation?

Connections at locations determined by the equipment layout: power for LEDs, blinds and heating, and water and drainage for a kitchen or shower. A spare cable is not a completed connection. Installation and testing must meet the requirements of the selected equipment.

Can a structure be built alongside an existing terrace?

Yes, although foundations, cables and drainage may require access beneath the existing surface. Preparation can therefore involve more work than before decking or paving is laid. Information on terrace build-up and existing services helps plan the necessary work.

How are delivery and installation handled on the property?

Pinegard delivers prepared components, and the team assembles the structure on site. Space for unloading and a route to carry components into the garden are needed. A narrow gate, stairs or an upper-floor terrace affects logistics and how larger components are delivered.

Does Pinegard carry out projects outside Poland?

Yes. We also undertake projects abroad, including Switzerland and Norway. The scope covers logistics and installation at the project location. The address, property access and requirements of the particular country are needed to prepare the order.

What distinguishes a seasonal structure from a year-round building?

The building elements and services. Roofing shelters against precipitation and glazing can reduce wind, but a heated room also needs suitable insulation, windows, doors and ventilation. A kitchen, gym or relaxation room used in winter needs conditions appropriate to that function.

04Other structures and servicing

Can a carport combine parking with storage?

Yes. One building form can accommodate covered parking bays and an enclosed room for tools, bicycles or car accessories. The carport width must allow for cars with doors open. Storage access should not conflict with parking or manoeuvring.

What makes a children's playhouse comfortable to use?

The children's ages, a convenient entrance, visibility from the house and space to play around it. Platforms, openings and equipment must suit the users.

Our playhouses and playgrounds show different ideas for this space. Appearance matters, but does not replace appropriate equipment and protective measures.

How does a private playground differ from a public playground?

In intended use, intensity of use and the requirements for equipment and maintenance. Movement zones and surfacing matter in both cases, but public-use projects require a separate assessment of requirements. A private garden item cannot be treated as public playground equipment based on appearance alone.

What matters in a dog house besides appearance?

A size suited to the dog, a dry interior, shelter from wind and rain, and air exchange. An opening or removable section makes cleaning easier, and the location should also offer shade.

When comparing dog houses, consider these functions as well as the facade.

How can timber and moving components be kept in good condition?

Remove dirt and leaves from places that hold water, inspect the exterior coating and renew worn areas. Glazing tracks and drains must remain clear. Blinds, motors and other equipment require care according to their system instructions.

How should I contact Pinegard about servicing?

Contact your project manager or email kontakt@pinegard.pl. Include order details, a description of the symptoms, close-up photographs and a view of the whole structure. If an appliance is involved, also provide its model.
